Paper Format
Please prepare your paper using the 2-column format. View the guidelines and templates here, and please read the instructions below.
Please be sure to use the correct Category and Subject Descriptor in your paper. See the above guidelines for instructions and visit http://www.acm.org/class/1998/ for more information.
Your paper must be submitted in PDF format. A PDF creator for Windows can be downloaded here.
Failure to meet the formatting guidelines set by ACM could result in your paper not being included in the Proceedings CD.
Please note that you will see a box at the bottom of the left
column in the first page. This must remain in the same place, since
it is a placeholder for the ACM copyright and document/conference
identification. In the Camera Ready version, authors will fill the
space using the following information:
* Conference name: QoSim 2009, March 6, 2009,
Rome, Italy
* Copyright number: ISBN not known yet
Length
Regular papers and invited papers are allowed up to 8
pages, including all figures, tables and references. Extra
pages (up to 4) can be bought at 80 euros/page. More information
can be found on the registration form, where the payment for these
would be made.
Typeface
To achieve the best viewing experience for the review process
and conference proceedings, we strongly encourage authors to use
Times-Roman fonts. If a font face is used that is not
recognized by the submission system, your proposal will not be
reproduced correctly.
If creating a PDF file, please make sure that you are using Type 1
fonts, which are embeddable. Please make sure that all fonts and
subset fonts are embedded.
Graphics
Graphics should be inserted, rather than cutting and pasting.
The manuscript's graphics should have resolutions of 600 dpi for
monochrome, 300 dpi for grayscale, and 300 dpi for color. We
suggest that you use a text box to insert a graphic (which is
ideally a 300 dpi TIFF or EPS file, with all fonts embedded)
because, in a Word document, this method is somewhat more stable
than directly inserting a picture. To have non-visible rules on
your frame, use the MS Word "Format" pull-down menu, select Text
Box > Colors and Lines to choose No Fill and No Line.
Illustrations & Colors
Illustrations must appear within the designated margins. They
may span the two columns. If possible, position illustrations at
the top of columns, rather than in the middle or at the bottom.
Caption and number every illustration. All halftone illustrations
must be clear in black and white.
Page Numbers
Do not put page numbers on your document. We will add appropriate page numbers to accepted papers when the conference proceedings are assembled.
